The whole point of this newsletter is focused, concise content and lessons about Artificial Intelligence, so let’s cut right to the chase: Do you identify with any of the following statements?

I identify with all of the above statements—especially the last one, which makes me a hypocrite right off the bat.

North Light AI was founded by skeptics. In fact, it’s operated right now by skeptics. Not former skeptics. Current.

But also importantly: Not full skeptics. Partial.

Because the truth is skepticism about AI is not only natural, it's healthy. It's wise to question new technologies, especially ones as powerful as AI.

However, it's also important to recognize that AI is no longer just a futuristic concept—it's here, and it's rapidly becoming a part of our daily lives.

While concerns about AI are valid, this technology also offers incredible opportunities to enhance our work and lives in ways we might not have imagined.

We’ve seen it first hand.

The key is to approach AI with an open mind, balancing healthy skepticism with curiosity about its potential benefits.

By understanding AI better, we can use its capabilities while being mindful of its limitations and ethical implications.

Here’s what to know about The Lightwave:

The goal is simple: to demystify AI for busy professionals like you.

Day by day, we'll deliver a concise, easy-to-understand explanation of a specific AI concept or application – all in about two minutes of reading time.

Here's what you can expect:

1. Clear, jargon-free explanations: We break down complex AI topics into digestible bits that are straightforward and easy to understand.

2. Business focus: We'll explore how AI is changing various industries and how it might affect your work.

3. Balanced perspective: We'll discuss both the potential benefits and challenges of AI, helping you form informed opinions.

5. Quick standalone reads: Each post is designed to be read in two minutes or less, and can be read on its own (perfect for times you miss an issue or two).

This won’t make you an expert, but it will put you ahead of 95% of other people and businesses. (In fact, this newsletter probably isn’t much help to actual AI experts. It’ll be too simple).

It’s like what my father used to say: “If I ask you to tell me what time it is, I don’t need you to make me a clock.”

The Lightwave leaves most of the clock-making to the clock-makers.

We strive to tell you the metaphorical time, so to speak, so that you decide how/why/when to implement AI in your own work.

Or, alternatively, not to implement it. That’s a valid endpoint too.

See, the goal isn’t to convert you into some kind of unquestioning worshiper of all things AI.

No.

Rather, our goal is to equip you with practical knowledge about AI that you can apply in your professional life.
